Child Therapy
Just as adults use talking to express their thoughts and feelings in talk therapy, children express their thoughts and feelings through the language of play and action. I offer play therapy to help your child process their feelings and work through developmental conflicts so they can continue to grow. Depending on the age of the child, I often work closely with parents to support the family system. I can tell you more about how I work with children in our initial phone call.
Couple Therapy
Couples often come to me because they feel trapped in an endless pattern of conflict and avoidance, and because they feel alone and unable to connect. They may experience the relationship primarily as two separate individuals, each focused on what the other person is doing wrong. An important part of couples therapy is developing a couple state of mind: a sense of not you, not me, but us. Rather than asking who is to blame, we become curious about how the emotional system of the relationship creates and sustains the pattern the couple wants to change. A couple is more than two individuals; the relationship has a life of its own and requires attention and care, much like tending a garden. Together, we identify the unconscious wishes, fears, and emotions shaping the relationship, map the recurring feedback loops, and develop new ways of relating to one another.
Adult Family Therapy
Something unique about my practice is that I work with estranged adult families and repairing familial relationships, whether that is the adult parent-child pair or adult siblings. Every relationship is unique and needs a different approach, let’s talk together about what you are looking for.
Individual Therapy
In therapy, we will look at your thoughts, feelings, and past experiences and begin to notice patterns and themes that emerge. We will identify how these internal emotional patterns shape you. We will then work toward transforming these patterns so we can help you grow and change your experience of yourself and improve your relationships. This is a collaborative process where we will think together about who you truly are and how you came to be. Although neither of us knows where your path leads, I am committed to being with you on your journey toward self-acceptance and growth.
*I no longer sign-off on disability paperwork or work leave forms, as I have found this process can impact the treatment. If this is something you need, we can find you someone who can fill-out these forms in conjunction with your therapy.
Rates
I charge $250 for individual therapy sessions and $300 for couples or families. Sessions are 50 minutes. I do once-weekly therapy at a minimum. I offer Superbills for insurance reimbursement. I do provide some sliding scale spots depending on availability.
*Good Faith Estimate: Congress passed the No Surprises Act of 2020, which was meant for hospitals to disclose treatment costs. The price of your treatment will depend on how many sessions you need, which we do not know at the outset.
